2. Summary

3. Hosting and delivery by Cloudflare

This website is delivered through Cloudflare Pages. The provider is Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.

When you visit, Cloudflare automatically processes the data your browser sends: IP address, date and time, requested address, amount of data transferred, the previously visited page (referrer), browser and operating system details, and the browser’s language setting.

The purpose is to deliver the website, protect it against attacks and abuse, and keep it running securely. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is a secure, fast and reliable website.

We do not store access logs ourselves. Cloudflare processes the data as our processor under a contract pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. Cloudflare keeps technical logs according to its own policies.

Cloudflare may also process data in the USA. Cloudflare, Inc. is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The transfer is based on the European Commission’s adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR); the EU Standard Contractual Clauses apply in addition.

If Cloudflare detects unusual traffic, a security check may appear before the page loads. Cloudflare may then set a strictly necessary cookie, for example cf_clearance. The legal basis is Section 25(2) No. 2 of the German TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

More information: Cloudflare privacy policy.

4. Language selection

On your first visit, the website redirects you to a language version. A small program at Cloudflare reads your browser’s language setting and an existing language cookie for this. It stores nothing.

If you choose a language yourself, your browser stores the cookie joycapsule-locale with the language code, for example en. It lasts one year, is sent only to this website and is used solely to remember your choice on your next visit. The legal basis is Section 25(2) No. 2 of the German TDDDG, because you explicitly use this function, and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can delete the cookie in your browser at any time. The website does not use other browser storage such as local storage.

5. Film, images and font

The film is delivered by this website itself. It only loads when you start it; before that, only a preview image is loaded. Video platforms such as YouTube are not embedded. Images and the Manrope font also come from this website, not from other providers.

6. Links to social networks and other websites

The website links to JoyCapsule’s profiles on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and X, and to sources about a study. These are plain links, not embedded plugins. Only when you click a link does the other website open and its provider receive your data. The privacy notices of that provider apply.

7. Early access and waiting list

Sign-up for early access is not active yet. The input field is a disabled preview and sends nothing. This privacy policy will be updated before the waiting list opens.

8. Contact by email

If you write to us, we process your email address, your name if you give it, and the content of your message in order to reply. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your message concerns a contract or steps before one, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is answering enquiries. We delete the message once your request is settled, unless a statutory retention period applies.

The mailbox is operated by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany, as our processor. More information: STRATO privacy policy.

9. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) and data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).

Right to object: You may object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR).

An email to hello@joycapsule.de is enough for any request. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), in particular in the EU member state where you live or work.

10. Obligation to provide data and automated decisions

Without the technical data sent when you visit, the website cannot be delivered. Beyond that, you don’t have to provide any data. There is no automated decision-making and no profiling.

11. Changes

We update this privacy policy when the website changes, for example when the waiting list or the app launches. The version published here applies.

This is a translation. The German version is legally binding.
